Starbuck Hall Meeting

Minutes: were read. There were no errors or omissions
Motion: to adopt the minutes Diane/Jackie. Carried

Correspondence:
- letter from Meticulous Flooring to refinish floor $3 480.75.
- letter from Corner to Corner to wax the whole hall floor $2 400.

OLD BUSINESS
Flooring
Still waiting for an estimate from a Headingley flooring company to refinish the hardwood
floor.
Jackie will contact A&W Flooring for an estimate for the hardwood floor.

Electronic Sign
Maggie is still looking into the cost. This will be deferred to the next meeting as to when
grants had to be in to various places.

Piano
The piano needs to be tuned again and Val is still looking into contacting Jay Taylor.

NEW BUSINESS
Hangers
Gerry will remove 50 hangers and store as it is too crowded.

Mural
There was a discussion about putting up a mural of old Starbuck in the cloak room. Val
will look into getting an artist and picture ideas.

Things left in the freezer
Food left in the freezer and fridge must be well identified and for what purpose it is
intended. Then it will not be used incorrectly. Jackie will make up a sign.

Pots
It was brought to the Hall’s attention after the Senior’s Christmas supper that some of
the pots burn easily and don’t fit the elements. It was suggested that the Hall purchase 3
good quality stock pots from Costco. Motion: to pay Diane for the purchase of 3 pots for
$177.56. Ron/Val Carried.
Also, the elements on the left stove were slow to heat up- the elements may need
replacing. Gerry will get prices on the elements.

Gerry gave an estimate for building a garbage bin outside- $578 and building a cupboard
in the kitchen under the window that opens into the main hall - $849.

Suzanne Moore contacted Diane about wanting a copy of our constitution but we are
under the Starbuck Recreation constitution. As a result of the Municipality’s survey of
local recreation centres and halls there was a variety of responses as to the Disillusion
Clause or Winding Down Clause of a hall or recreation centre (how the disbanding of a
hall or centre is handled). The Municipality wants consistency for what is best for the
community so some constitutions may have to be changed.
