Starbuck Hall Meeting
May 16, 2011

Present: Carol, Jen, Ron, Diane, Val, and Janis

Absent: Nancy, Dan

Minutes: were read and there were no errors or omissions.
Motion: to adopt the minute.s Diane/Janis. Carried

Correspondence:
- got a quote to re-do the flooring in the bathrooms and kitchen by Silikal
Reactive Resin Flooring for $24 000. After a very short discussion we decided
not to go with them.

OLD BUSINESS
Hangers
To purchase coat hangers for the hall. Carol got a price of one dollar each for
wooden hangers . Dan was to price them through his supplier. No information
yet.

Safety Light – front entrance
A light needs to be put at the front door to make it easier to exit the building in the
dark. Dan will look into it.

Hall Agreement
Is now completed

Recycle Bins
Dan got the recycle bags. Val will get tubs for inside the Hall.
Motion: to purchase recycle tubs up to a value of $100.00. Val/Ron. Carried.

Bar Tender list
See Val

Re-shingled roof
The re shingling of the roof has been completed after last year’s hail storm.

NEW BUSINESS
Uneven ground around Hall
Val will contact the Municipality to get them to level the ruts around the north and
south side of the Hall.

Cutting the grass
Dwight Cochrane will ask the Municipality to cut the grass around the hall.

School Christmas Concert
Janis will ask the school about the money collected from the last 2 Christmas
concerts-if Jen finds there is no payment.

Caretaker’s Job.
Bruce Meyers in no longer interested in being the caretaker of the Hall. Christina
McDowell will take over as interim caretaker until September. She came to the
meeting to meet the board members and get a list of jobs that she was suppose
to do. Caretaker’s job will be update. After she left we discussed raising the
salary starting in September.
Motion: to raise Caretaker’s hourly rate to $15 from $12. Jen/Val. Carried.

Floor Mops
Jen will contact Quintons about cleaning the large floor mops.

Mold around venting system
There seems to be mold on top of and around the air ducts in the bar area. Carol
will contact Honeywell.

School Dance
The Starbuck School grade 7 & 8’s want to hold a dance in the Hall to raise
money for a school project. It will be from 12:15 – 3 pm.
Motion: to charge the students $150 plus GST. Jen/Val. Carried.

AGM Meeting
It was suggested that we try an AGM next year in March.

Next Meeting: June 13th, 2011 at 7 pm
Fowl Supper Meeting : Aug. 22 nd, 2011 at 7 pm.
